In response to recent reports of a possible deportation effort targeting Afghan migrants in Tajikistan, IOM DTM deployed its Flow Monitoring headcount and survey tools to the Sher Khan border point in Kunduz province to capture developing mobility dynamics. DTM staff count every individual crossing the border during all operational hours of the crossing point and interview Afghan nationals on reasons for travel and movement intentions. The second Flash Update provides a brief overview of key indicators from 17 to 27 July. IOM will continue monitoring the situation and providing regular updates.
