As long as there isn’t too much rain, he should have a huge chance of this current mark. He is somewhat thrown in on his Grade 1 form, and he is still very much unexposed, having only had 4 starts over fences.Obviously, plenty of dangers and likely headed by Nurburgring, who finally looks to be delivering on the track. He chased home Ascending at Royal Ascot and then won head in chest at Killarney back over fences last time. He is 9lb higher but is completely unexposed, and this looks winnable.First Wave looked progressive bolting up at Gowran and obviously was pitched in at the deep end behind Field Of Gold in the St James’s Palace Stakes. These are much calmer waters, so he could be the one to give the selection most to think about. He finished second in this race last year off just a 2lb lower mark, and I’d be confident he can bounce back and go close.Of the market principals, Light Up The Dark is a well-bred, unexposed filly, so she is likely to have her supporters. She won well at Down Royal last time and looks the biggest danger.
