The PC Ghose Commission report on Kaleshwaram project was submitted to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday and it is likely to come up in the next Cabinet meeting.Principal Secretary, Irrigation and Command Area Development, Rahul Bojja, submitted the report to the Chief Minister in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. Immediately after the report’s submission, the government constituted a committee with Secretaries of the Irrigation, Law and General Administration Departments to study the report. The Committee is likely to complete the exercise and submit its report to the government, to be taken up in the State Cabinet on August 4.Later, the Chief Minister held a preliminary discussion on the report. It is learnt that the PC Ghose Commission has made it clear in its report about failures in the construction of the barrages of Kaleshwaram project and said faults were seen from the lowest level to the highest level in the government.The Commission apparently felt that norms were thrown to the winds and works were done not professionally, by according to the whims and fancies of the individuals. The decisions at the engineering and construction level were taken due to pressure from the top officials and political bosses. Violations were found right from the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR).The Committee, which was appointed to study the construction of the Kaleshwaram project comprehensively, including structural and procedural lapses and violations of norms in administrative decisions, submitted its report to the Irrigation Secretary Rahul Bojja on Thursday.Published - August 01, 2025 09:59 pm IST
