Arshia had died on July 26 and her family had conducted her last rites, citing a fall as the cause of death without a postmortemThe Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar police Monday arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly murdering his 61 -year-old stepmother who refused to give him money to play an online game. Police have also arrested the man’s father in connection with the case.The deceased was identified as Arshia Khusru, a resident of Periyar Apartment at Vasai West.Arshia had died on July 26 and her family had conducted her last rites, citing a fall as the cause of death without a postmortem. Following this, police launched a probe and arrested her stepson Imran Khusru. Police said that he has confessed to the crime.Imran was allegedly addicted to an online game and needed Rs 1.8 lakh to continue playing, police said. When his stepmother refused to give him the money, he allegedly slammed her head against a wall corner and kicked her in the face, leading to her death, police said.
