Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said senior IPS officer Pronab Mohanty, who is heading the SIT set up to probe the allegations of “mass burials” in Dharmasthala, will be replaced if he goes on Central government duty.When reporters questioned whether the SIT chief will be replaced, Mr. Siddaramaiah said: “Let’s see. If he goes to Central government (he will be replaced)...”. The Chief Minister made the comment on the sidelines of a government programme here.There has been speculation that Mr. Mohanty, Director-General of Police (Internal Security Division), who has found a place in the list of empanelment of Director General-rank officers to serve in the Union government released by the Centre, will be replaced as the SIT chief.The SIT was constituted by the State government following claims about alleged mass murder, rape, and burials in Dharmasthala, over the past two decades.Speaking to reporters, Home Minister G.
