So now Carlo has gone to Brazil and seems like he is done with club football in Europe, what is his legacy? Do people sleep on him when they talk about the best managers of the past 2-3 decades? I mean the titles are there and no one can question his trophy cabinet (yes not as many leagues but he more than made up for it with European trophies imo). People often say he isn’t tactically astute.. But he was the one who popularized the Christmas tree formation. If we look at his tenures, he has always had some tactical tweaks to get the best out of his players. Getting the best of Inzhagi, moving Pirlo to the base of the midfield, getting the best out of Drogba and Lampard, use of Matuidi in Psg to find the balance, Di Maria in midfield, playing without a DM and making it work almost throughout the season in Madrid.. And he was the one who got the best out if DCL and Vini too… submitted by /u/Midnight_Thoughts77 [link] [comments]
