Ok if you’re poor. I’m assuming she is getting some sort of food stamps, ebt? She could just go to the store and buy the flour, sugar, etc and make the pancake mix from scratch? Buy the dried beans to make the baked beans herself? All of which is cheaper. Better for ya, fairly cheap. But I dont know her housing situation. If she has a kitchen etc. just a thought. Normally making things from scratch is cheaper, and with basics you can make other foods. Avoiding the problems she seems to be having with boxed or prepared foods
