Several Disneyland Resort guests recently shared their experience getting locked in a cage after the Casey Jr. Circus Train ride broke down. The Casey Jr. Circus Train ride is one of the remaining opening-day attractions at Disneyland Park. It opened alongside the rest of the Southern California Disney park on July 17, 1955, but was shut down almost immediately due to safety concerns. The attraction was reevaluated and reopened to the public on July 31, 1955. Over the years, Walt Disney Imagineers have added several tiny scenes throughout the Storybook Land ride, inspired by films like Frozen (2013), Cinderella (1950), Aladdin (1992), and more.Credit: DisneyA few days before the Casey Jr. Circus Train closed for refurbishment earlier this month, the ride broke down with several Disneyland Park guests on board. One Disney Park guest, @izzys.busy._ on TikTok, shared her experience getting trapped in the cage car when the attraction stopped: @izzys.busy._ it was literally a locked cage #disneyland #inshowexit #caseyjrcircustrain #fantasyland #disney #jet2holidays #nothingbeatsajet2holiday #fyp #foryou #foryoupage ♬ Jet2 Advert – A7-BBH | MAN “Throwback to getting stuck on the Casey Jr. Train in Disneyland…Stuck in a literal cage,” the TikToker wrote. “…It was literally a locked cage.”The short video shows footage of guests still stuck on the ride, before and after Disney cast members unlocked the safety restraints. The attraction cast members then removed everyone from the train and led riders uphill through a typically unauthorized area back into Disneyland Park.Credit: DisneyIt’s unclear what caused the Casey Jr. Circus Train at Disneyland Park to break down. Disneyland Resort rarely issues public statements about minor ride issues, and this instance was no different. The Casey Jr. Circus Train eventually reopened after the incident. However, the Fantasyland attraction is currently closed for refurbishment. The Disneyland Resort website’s refurbishment calendar only lists the operating schedule through September 9, 2025, and, as of now, the Casey Jr. Circus Train isn’t scheduled to reopen before then. The official website encourages guests to “check back here for updates.”What’s the most unusual experience you’ve had at the Disney parks?
