‘Petrol pump heist’ in Hathras: Driver fills tank, snaps nozzle, speeds off without paying; CCTV video goes viral

In a bizarre incident that unfolded early on July 31, a man drove into a petrol station on Jalesar Road in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras, filled up his tank, and sped off without paying. What shocked the attendants even more was that, as he fled, he yanked the fuel nozzle clean off its hose, damaging the pump in the process. Startled staff attempted to chase him on foot but couldn’t catch up.According to Brut India, the local police were promptly informed, and an FIR was registered for theft and criminal damage. Officers later reviewed CCTV footage and managed to locate the torn-off nozzle about two kilometres from the pump.The driver remains at large, and the investigation is ongoing.
