By: Education DeskNew Delhi | January 3, 2026 06:24 PM IST 3 min readAccording to BSEB, examinations at the Bapu Pariksha Bhawan are conducted in both offline and online modes across its three blocks (Express Photo by Deepak Joshi/ representative image)The Bihar’s Bapu Pariksha Bhawan has been equipped with extensive security, accessibility and candidate-friendly facilities to support the conduct of large-scale competitive examinations in Bihar.According to the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), examinations at the Bapu Pariksha Bhawan are conducted in both offline and online modes across its three blocks. While Blocks A and B are used for offline and hybrid examinations, Block C has been functioning as an online examination centre since September 24, 2025. In addition to the main complex, online model examination centres have been set up in nine divisional districts of the state, where nearly 24 lakh candidates have appeared for computer-based tests (CBT) so far.The examination complex has hosted tests conducted by several national and state-level bodies, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), National Testing Agency (NTA), Bihar Staff Selection Commission, Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board, Bihar Police, Aryabhatta Knowledge University, the Postal Department and the Bihar School Examination Board.Security and monitoring form a key component of the examination arrangements. The entire complex is under continuous surveillance through 944 CCTV cameras connected to an Integrated Command and Control Centre.Jammers have also been installed to prevent the use of unfair means during examinations. Frisking of candidates and staff is carried out using hand-held metal detectors, door-frame metal detectors and baggage scanners, with separate arrangements made for women candidates.The Bapu Pariksha Bhawan has also been designed to be accessible for persons with disabilities. Wheelchairs are available for divyang candidates, nine large lifts operate across the three blocks, and separate washrooms for divyang persons have been constructed on every floor. A total of 24 escalators have been installed across Blocks A, B and C to facilitate smooth movement of candidates.Basic amenities for examinees have also been prioritised. Clean drinking water is provided through RO systems and water coolers installed on each floor, supported by an in-house water treatment plant. To ensure uninterrupted examination processes, the complex is equipped with an electric sub-station and two large diesel generator sets for power backup.Story continues below this adBSEB Chairman Anand Kishore said the complex is being operated in a hybrid mode, allowing examinations to be conducted either online or offline depending on requirements. After recent capacity expansion, the complex can accommodate around 11,000 candidates simultaneously for online examinations, while Block C currently handles about 3,000 candidates at a time. © IE Online Media Services Pvt LtdTags:BPSC
