Elia Muscat has been identified as the 76-year-old man who died after a wall collapsed on him in Qormi on Thursday afternoon.The incident happened at around 5.30pm in Triq Farsina, where Muscat was working inside a garage together with his 41-year-old son. Part of the wall they were carrying out works on collapsed, trapping both men.Muscat died on the scene, while his son was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified as having suffered grievous injuries.Police officers, members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team were called to the site to assist.The Building and Construction Authority and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority later confirmed that no works had been approved or given clearance by either authority.
