The narco-terrorist Nicolás Maduro claimed that all the cocaine trafficked in the region comes from Colombia. Here, Maduro is trying to do two things: first, divert attention toward Colombia by asserting that all of the region’s cocaine is produced there and that none is produced in Venezuela; and second, focus all the pressure on the guerrilla leader—also a narco-terrorist—Gustavo Petro. In his stupidity, Maduro believes that this will reduce the pressure on his regime and perhaps lead the United States to decide not to remove him from power.
