Unsold homes in India's top seven cities increased by four percent last year. This rise to nearly 5.77 lakh units occurred as new home supply outpaced buyer demand. Housing sales saw a 14 percent drop. However, new supply grew by two percent. Unsold stock decreased in Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Hyderabad but climbed in Delhi-NCR, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.
