Disney is constantly adapting, and guest satisfaction is seemingly top of mind.Credit: DisneyThe thrill of forward motion is back in the driver’s seat at EPCOT. Beginning July 22, 2025, guests will be able to experience a completely reimagined version of Test Track presented by General Motors, a high-octane favorite that’s racing into the future while honoring the past. The transformation was first teased at D23 Expo 2024, when Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro offered an exciting glimpse into the ongoing evolution of Disney theme parks. “Imagineers dream, create, design and build these stories into real places,” he said, adding, “Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving.” And now, the results of that vision are coming into view—right in the heart of World Discovery at EPCOT.Credit: DisneyBlending thrills with nostalgic touches, the new version of Test Track draws inspiration from World of Motion, the original attraction that once called this location home. The refreshed experience aims to capture the optimism and imagination of EPCOT’s early days, while delivering a sleek and sensory ride designed for today’s adventurers.Annual Passholders got a special head start with exclusive preview dates scheduled for July 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, and 19. (Interestingly, July 17 is not included among the dates.) According to the My Disney Experience app, qualifying Passholders can attempt to join a virtual queue at 7:00 a.m. (with a valid pass and EPCOT reservation) or again at 1:00 p.m. (with a valid pass only) on those preview days.Reservations for July 13 were scooped up almost immediately, a strong indication of just how excited fans are to return to the Test Track experience. In fact, the 7:00 a.m. virtual queue filled up in just three seconds, showing exactly how high demand is running among Passholders.Credit: Lee (myfrozenlife), FlickrHowever, after four Annual Passholder days that included virtual queue access, Disney has reportedly revoked the access and changed the way APs can experience the new Test Track ride. According to reports, on July 18, Disney welcomed Annual Passholders without virtual queue passes into the Test Track line. Instead, cast members asked guests to show their Annual Passholder information to gain access. It is not clear if this is going to be a consistent change ahead of the last Annual Passholder preview day, or if the park was relatively quiet yesterday meaning more APs were granted access. Either way, July 19 is the final day that APs can preview the ride before its public opening in a few days time.Credit: DisneyWhen the attraction opens to the general public on July 22, it will join the top tier of Lightning Lane selections at EPCOT. From that day forward, guests will be able to access the ride via traditional standby or by purchasing a Lightning Lane Multi Pass for EPCOT, choosing one top-tier ride (which now includes Test Track, replacing Soarin’ Around the World) along with two attractions from the lower tier.Beyond Test Track, Walt Disney World Resort is buzzing with transformation. Over at Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is temporarily closed as landscape work begins on the “Beyond Big Thunder” expansion. Meanwhile, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is preparing to bring the world of Monsters, Inc. to life with a newly announced themed land currently in development.Credit: DisneyWhether you remember the World of Motion days or are buckling in for your first lap, this next chapter of Test Track is ready to steer guests into EPCOT’s future—full speed ahead. What are your thoughts on the new Test Track attraction?
