This comes after Johnson delayed a floor vote on Massie’s bipartisan Epstein bill, which aimed to unseal key records related to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking network. In his post, Massie reshared a Johnson X post. With the support of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Massie, and California Democrat Ro Khanna introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act in the U.S. House of Representatives in mid-July 2025. The bill, introduced as H.Res.581, is supported through a discharge petition, an uncommon legislative maneuver designed to bypass Speaker Johnson and bring the measure to a floor vote without leadership approval. The petition has attracted a mix of conservative Republicans and progressive Democrats, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Meaning there’s rare cross-aisle support for transparency in a case that continues to raise questions about powerful connections and accountability.
