On this occasion, Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Mrs. Shruti Chaudhary, Member of Parliament Ch Dharambir Singh, and other dignitaries were also present.Nayab Singh Saini announced that the consolidation work of certain villages in the Badhra Assembly constituency, which is currently pending, will be completed at the earliest. He further stated that a veterinary hospital will be established in village Patuwas once suitable land is made available. He also announced that Badhra will be granted the status of an electricity division, and an electricity office will be constructed for which Rs 3 crore has been sanctioned. In addition, after conducting a feasibility assessment, the Badhra Public Health sub-division will be upgraded to a full division.Announcing plans to upgrade the Kaliyana–Dadri road to a four-lane highway, the Chief Minister said the project will proceed after the feasibility study. Responding to the demand for granting sub-tehsil status to Jhojhu Kalan, he said that an application should be submitted to the committee constituted by the government for such matters. Furthermore, he announced that a fire station will be set up in Badhra after feasibility assessment. The government schools in Mahrana and Dhani Phogat villages will also be upgraded to the senior secondary level following a feasibility review.Over Rs 21 crore to be spent on special repair of roadsNayab Singh Saini, while announcing measures to strengthen the road network in the Badhra Assembly constituency, stated that 100 roads covering a total length of 311.20 km, currently under the Defect Liability Period (DLP), will be repaired by the concerned agencies. In addition, he announced Rs 20.40 crore for the repair of 12 PWD roads spanning 48.31 km. Special repairs will also be carried out on five roads measuring 13.80 km under the Marketing Board in the Badhra area. Furthermore, Rs 1.19 crore has been sanctioned for the special repair of three roads with a total length of 11.70 km. Alongside this, 21 roads totaling 63.9 km, also falling under the DLP, will be repaired through the respective agencies.He also announced that an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) will be opened in Kari-Rupa, subject to a feasibility study. Additionally, the Chief Minister announced Rs 5 crore for the construction of kutcha (unpaved) roads in villages under the Badhra Assembly constituency, along with another Rs 5 crore for various development works in rural areas of the constituency.Speaking on women’s empowerment, the Chief Minister said that the government has launched the Lado Laxmi Yojana with a dedicated budgetary provision of Rs 5,000 crore. He further informed that all necessary arrangements have been made for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) scheduled to be held on July 26 and 27 across the state. For the convenience of candidates, special bus services have been arranged to ensure smooth transportation to examination centres. In addition, to support female candidates, one accompanying family member has also been allowed to travel free of cost in the buses.The Chief Minister was addressing a large public gathering in village Jhojhu Kalan of Badhra Assembly segment in Charkhi Dadri district on Thursday.Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 19 key development projects totaling nearly Rs. 68 crore. These include the foundation stone laying of 17 projects worth Rs 54.84 crore and the inauguration of 2 projects worth approximately Rs13.05 crore.Sh. The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to accelerating development in Badhra and promised that no effort would be spared in ensuring the region’s progress.Badhra sees development works worth Rs. 495 crore since 2014Highlighting the developmental strides made over the past decade, the CM informed the gathering that Rs. 495 crore worth of works had been executed in Badhra alone since 2014, whereas merely Rs 175 crore were spent on developmental works during the previous Congress government 10 year term. Of 203 announcements made for Badhra, 145 have been completed and work is underway on remaining.The Chief Minister reaffirmed his vision to accelerate district Charkhi Dadri’s growth, declaring that development here would proceed not just at double but triple the current pace. Since its establishment as a separate district in 2016, 474 announcements have been made for Charkhi Dadri, out of which 321 are complete and 90 are in progress.He cited major infrastructural investments including 170 crore for four-laning of NH-148B, Rs. 27.63 crore for a railway overbridge near Rawaldhi, and Rs. 19 crore for a Maternal and Child Health Centre at the old hospital premises. In terms of welfare delivery, the district has issued 2.73 lakh Ayushman and Chirayu health cards. Under this, more than Rs 24 crore has been spent on free treatment of 30,000 individuals.A Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed a decisive and transparent government, leading to an unprecedented transformation in the work culture. She said that the region, known for its valour and spirit of service, is now seeing the execution of long-awaited irrigation schemes.The Minister informed that projects worth Rs. 125 crore have been approved for the district. These include laying pipelines, installation of borewell solar systems, construction of recharge wells and canals, and linking traditional village ponds with canal systems to enhance water availability.She further  informed  that among the major upcoming initiatives is the construction of a lake over 2.5 acres in Makdani village at a cost of Rs. 32 crore, aimed at boosting groundwater recharge in nearby areas. She described the project as a potential lifeline for the region. Besides this, Rs. 40 crore reconstruction of the Bandhwana Minor canal is expected to begin shortly, which will directly benefit nearly 20 villages by improving irrigation facilities, said the Minister.Smt. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said it was a proud and deeply emotional moment for everyone. On this brave land of Haryana, we remember a great son who laid down his life in the service of Mother India, he said.The Chief Minister said martyrs serve as an inspiration for future generations. “This is not just a statue, but a symbol of courage, unwavering patriotism and supreme sacrifice that flows in the blood of the youth of this region,” he said. Shaheed Arvind Sangwan was a young man who had the spirit of serving the nation since childhood. Born in Jhojhu Kalan, the soil of the village instilled strong patriotic values in him. He dreamt of joining the Indian Army and through hard work, he fulfilled that dream. He laid down his life on 23rd December 2022, during Operation Snow Leopard in Ladakh while defending the nation’s borders, the Chief Minister added.The Chief Minister emphasized that the sacrifice of a soldier is not just a personal loss but a sacrifice for the entire nation. The Department of Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare has been formed for the welfare of ex-servicemen and Central Armed Police Forces.The assistance amount for martyr families, which was Rs 20 lakh in 2014, has been increased to Rs 1 crore. 406 dependents of martyrs have been given government jobs on compassionate grounds. Financial assistance for World War II veterans and their widows, which was Rs 3,000 in 2014, has been increased to Rs 10,000 per month. For ex-servicemen aged 60 and above, their widows, orphans, and war widows of the 1962, 1965, and 1971 wars, the monthly aid has been raised from Rs 2,000 to Rs 6,200.The ex-gratia amount for soldiers disabled during war, terrorism, or other incidents has also been raised from Rs 15 lakh in 2014 to Rs 35 lakh.He assured that the honour and respect for martyrs and their families will never diminish, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten.The Chief Minister urged the youth to take inspiration from bravehearts like Arvind Sangwan. He assured that the pending wheat commission of the Arhtiyas will be cleared soon.During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various issues, including the no-dues clearance of old shops of Mandi traders, their licenses, the cleanliness system in the Mandi, as well as concerns raised by representatives of the Miller Association and the Flour Mill Association.The Agriculture Minister attentively listened to the demands of all traders and directed the officials to consider all their genuine demands sympathetically.Free Bus Facility by Haryana State Transport for candidates  appearing for CET Group-C Examination 12,000 Buses to Operate on Exam DaysThe Haryana State Transport Department is continuously working to provide safe, comfortable, and timely transportation services across the state. In this direction, a special arrangement has been made to ensure the successful conduct of the upcoming CET Group-C examination scheduled  to be held on July 26 and 27.Sharing more details in this regard, a spokesperson of the transport department said that the department has been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring safe transport for the candidates coming to examination centers and  going back home after appearing in the CET Group-C examination scheduled to be held across  the centers set up in all districts and in Chandigarh.The spokesperson shared that around 12,000 buses will be deployed by the department, operating in accordance with both examination sessions each day. For the morning session (10:00 AM – 11:45 AM), transportation  will be provided  to the candidates to  the nearest examination center bus stop by 7:00 AM, and for the afternoon session (3:15 PM – 5:00 PM), by 12:00 noon. Wherever feasible, free shuttle services will also be arranged to take candidates to the final examination venue from the drop-off points.The spokesperson further  shared that one family member accompanying a female candidate will also be allowed to avail the free bus service. To benefit from this facility, only the admit card needs to be shown. All candidates are advised to reach their nearest depot/sub-depot bus stand well before the departure time to make full use of the free transportation service being provided by the government.The spokesperson informed that due to the heavy deployment of buses for examination duty, only limited buses will be available for the general public on these two days. Hence, the public is requested to travel only for urgent purposes.The spokesperson said that Haryana State Transport operates around 4,000 buses from 24 depots and 13 sub-depots, covering nearly 11 lakh kilometers daily and serving approximately 10 lakh passengers each day. Ensuring safe and accessible travel, fulfilling social responsibilities, and effectively delivering government services to the people remain the core objectives of Haryana State Transport.Haryana Police Make Robust Security Arrangements for CET-2025In order to ensure that the CET-2025 examination, scheduled to be held on July 26 and 27 by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), is conducted peacefully and transparently, the Haryana Police has made comprehensive security arrangements across the state. In this regard, Director General of Police, Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur, has issued necessary instructions to senior police officers in all districts.On the day of the examination, Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS) will be enforced within a 500-meter radius of all examination centres. All district police chiefs will inspect the examination centres a day prior to the exam along with the respective Deputy Commissioners and will personally patrol on the day of the exam to ensure that the recruitment examination is conducted fairly and without any disruptions. Additionally, Deputy Commissioners have been directed to appoint an adequate number of Duty Magistrates for the exam.Instructions have stated that a large number of candidates arrive at the respective stations by train or bus the evening before the exam and then travel via auto-rickshaws and taxis to hotels and lodges near the examination centres. To avoid disorder due to the crowd, additional traffic duties have been directed to be deployed.The district police have been directed to establish checkpoints and inspect all suspicious vehicles arriving from outside the city starting from the evening before the exam. This activity will continue until the completion of the examination.Patrolling Parties and Duty Briefing by Gazetted OfficersAn adequate number of patrolling parties will be deployed to check duties and maintain law and order at the centres. All personnel on duty will be briefed by at least gazetted rank officers. The concerned officers have been instructed to ensure that only authorised persons are allowed entry into the examination centres. Invigilators inside the examination halls will not be allowed to carry mobile phones or electronic gadgets.Parking and Shops Around Exam Centres to be RestrictedNo vehicles will be allowed to park within a 200-meter radius of the examination centres. On the day of the exam, photocopy/printing shops near the centres will be ordered to remain closed. During the examination, the district police will communicate exclusively through local wireless networks.DGP Appeals for Public Cooperation in Maintaining Law and OrderDGP Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur has appealed to the citizens of the state, candidates, and their guardians to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious activity to 112 or the local police. He assured that Haryana Police is fully committed to ensuring that CET-2025 is conducted in a fair and peaceful manner.Public Health Minister Ranbir Gangwa Holds Review Meeting with Department OfficialsMinister Directs Strict Monitoring of AMRUT Scheme and CM AnnouncementsHaryana’s Public Health Engineering and PWD Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa held an important review meeting today at the Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh with senior officials of the Public Health Engineering Department. The main objective of the meeting was to review the progress of ongoing development projects in the state, ensure the quality of work and find effective solutions to public issues.A district-wise review of works under the AMRUT scheme was conducted. Sh. Ranbir Gangwa stated that all projects under this scheme must be closely monitored and implemented without any laxity. “This scheme aims to improve urban infrastructure and provide better facilities to citizens, so delays or substandard work will not be tolerated,” he said.The meeting focused on the implementation of announcements made by the Chief Minister. The Minister directed officials to treat CM announcements as commitments made to the public and to complete them on priority. If any project is delayed, he asked for a report and immediate action to expedite progress.No Compromise on QualityTaking a firm stand on construction quality, Ranbir Gangwa warned that “a low bid in tenders does not give contractors the licence to use substandard materials. We want good quality work. There will be no compromise on strength and standards.” He instructed regular quality checks and sampling of materials used in projects. Junior Engineers (JEs) should maintain close supervision at work sites, ensuring cement, steel and other materials are of high quality.Rainwater Drainage ReviewedThe Minister sought detailed district-wise reports on drainage following recent rainfall. Officials shared data on rainfall levels and drainage response times. Gangwa directed that the drainage process be made more efficient to prevent future waterlogging. He emphasized better coordination among departments. Reports were also taken on the time taken for water drainage in areas like Bhiwani, Loharu, Siwani, Adampur, Mahendragarh, Kalanaur, Sampla, Meham, Rania, Kalanwali and Dabwali. He stressed that the state must have efficient systems for drainage and drinking water supply.Projects Worth Over Rs 5,000 Crore UnderwayOfficials informed that over 50 major projects worth more than Rs 5,000 crore are currently underway across the state, many of which are linked to CM announcements. Additionally, 19 stormwater projects worth Rs 297 crore are in progress. The Minister directed regular monitoring and completion of these projects within the set timelines.SOP to Be Implemented for Emergency WorkThe Minister also discussed the handling of emergency work in the Public Health Department. Officials informed that a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been prepared. Gangwa ordered its immediate implementation across all districts to ensure quick responses during disasters, rain, sewer blockages, and other emergencies. He said this will improve efficiency and readiness. He also ordered strict action against those who violate rules, emphasizing that corruption will not be tolerated.Coordination with Urban Local Bodies and PWDThe Minister emphasized the need for coordination with Urban Local Bodies regarding sewerage systems. The centre will also be equipped with necessary medical infrastructure, equipment and essential medicines.*Haryana Steps Forward with Compassionate Justice: Dr. Sumita Misra Directs Swift Implementation of ‘Support to Poor Prisoners’ Scheme**Empowered Committees to be constituted in Every District; Relief for Needy Prisoners to be Fast-tracked*Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Jails Criminal Investigation and Administration of Justice, Dr. Sumita Misra, has issued comprehensive directions for the immediate and effective implementation of the ‘Support to Poor Prisoners Scheme’ across all districts of Haryana in order to ensure equitable access to justice and humane support for underprivileged inmates.Acting upon the guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) laid down by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. Misra has directed the Director General of Prisons, all Deputy Commissioners, and all District Magistrates of Haryana to take proactive and time-bound measures in the letter and spirit of the scheme.As per the instructions, an Empowered Committee will be constituted in each district, comprising the District Magistrate, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Superintendent of Police, Superintendent/Deputy Superintendent of the concerned prison, and Judge incharge of the concerned Prison, as nominee of the District Judge. This committee will identify, assess, and facilitate financial assistance for poor prisoners who are unable to secure bail or pay fines.Dr. Misra informed that in order to strengthen execution, each committee will appoint a Nodal Officer and may collaborate with civil society representative, social worker or District Probation Officer. These stakeholders will support case processing and ensure timely relief reaches eligible inmates.The Prisons Department and all District Magistrates have been directed to hold regular meetings of the Empowered Committees, visit prisons, spread awareness about the scheme among jail staff and inmates, and prepare accurate lists of beneficiaries.Dr. Misra emphasized that relief must not remain on paper, but must translate into tangible human impact, offering dignity, fairness, and a second chance to those imprisoned solely due to poverty.
