Fahadh Faasil says the day he makes a bad film, he’ll automatically be alienated from the audienceBack in 2020, Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil made headlines while promoting his film C U Soon, when he candidly shared his unusual retirement dream, was becoming an Uber driver in Spain. Now, five years later, seems like nothing has changed for him. In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, when asked if he still stands by that sentiment, Fahadh responded:“Yeah, yeah. Of course. We were in Barcelona a few months back. I still very much think about it. I think that’ll only happen once people are done with me, you know? Jokes aside, but just the idea of driving someone from one place to another, I think that’s a beautiful thing. At least you’re witnessing someone’s destination. And I still do that, every time I get a chance to drive, I drive. There, here, everywhere. Whenever I get the chance, I take the wheel. It’s something I still enjoy a lot. That’s my time for myself. And it’s really good for thinking while driving.”Also Read | Fahadh Faasil accepts he uses a ‘dumb phone’ that was discontinued years ago: ‘In two years, I want to be accessible only by email’Fahadh, known for his low-key public presence and absence from social media, was also asked if not being online makes it harder to stay relevant, especially with younger Gen Z audiences. He dismissed the concern with characteristic clarity: “I’ll get alienated the day I start making bad movies. Nothing else will push me out. The moment I start doing bad films, that’s when people will want to move on from me. As long as I believe the attempt is honest, they’ll still want to keep me around. Or at least think, ‘This guy is up to something,’ you know?”The actor is currently promoting his upcoming comedy-thriller Maareesan, which also stars veteran Tamil actor Vadivelu. The film has already caught everyone attention as none other than Kamal Haasan recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise the movie, calling it a film that made him laugh, and think at the same time.Click here to follow Screen Digital on YouTube and stay updated with the latest from the world of cinema.© IE Online Media Services Pvt LtdTags:Fahadh Faasil
