The team has struggled as of late, and find themselves seventh in the Eastern Conference standings as Caitlin Clark continues to battle recurring injuries.Sophie Cunningham was fined for this TikTok video where she appeared to mock officials@SophallerMeanwhile, one of the Fever’s stars of the season has aimed a very public dig towards officials.Sophie Cunningham has become a popular figure in the WNBA amid her strong defence of teammate Clark and she took to social media to claim she was fined by the WNBA.Cunningham shared the video she was penalised $500 for on X before thinly veiled swipe at WNBA who she believes have more pressing concerns to be dealing with.“I got fined $500 for this TikTok,” she wrote.“I don’t know why this is funny to me – like ok you got it bud!“Because there’s not more important things to be worried about with our league right now.”What was Sophie Cunningham fined for?The video showed Cunningham singing along to a Sabrina Carpenter song with the caption ‘@some refs’ written on the clip.Cunningham appears to mouth the words of the song.“Stupid. How many injuries has Caitlin Clark had this season?Clark is currently out with her third serious injury, and it’s another issue regarding her soft tissue.The 23-year-old had to miss out on All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis as a result of a right groin issue.Clark opened up on the realisation she has faced amid these injuries in an interview with Glamour.“This is the first time I haven’t felt like a young body that can run around and sprint every day and just continue to do that,” Clark told Glamour. “Being a professional athlete, you really have to take care of both your body and your mind—it’s been a journey learning about that.“It makes me really intentional about what I want to accomplish and is a good reset if I’m feeling nervous or anxious about the game, to kind of wipe that away.”With the Fever sitting 12-12 ahead of this crucial second half stretch of the season, a fit and motivated Clark is crucial if the team are going to find success come the end of the campaign.
