Thakur was found hanging from a bedsheet from the ceiling fan. He hailed from Jammu.The matter came to light when Thakur’s father was trying to contact him in the morning, but received no response. He then contacted the house owner, who accessed the second floor through an adjacent room with a shared balcony and saw the youth hanging inside the locked room. The owner immediately alerted the police.The house has seven single-room units, all occupied by UPSC aspirants. Thakur’s mobile phone was found inside the room.Police said in the nine-page suicide note, he explained to his family why he had taken the extreme step. In the note, he reflected on his relationships with various family members. On top of the letter, he placed a green Post-it note, stating that his brother, Devinder, would be the first to find him and should ensure their father reads the note.
