Kristoffer Lund missed out on Serie A promotion with Palermo but reportedly still could be earning first division minutes next season. German Bundesliga club Koln are targeting Lund ahead of a potential transfer this summer, Kolnische Rundschau reported. Koln won the 2. Bundesliga last season, earning promotion back to Germany’s top-flight. The 23-year-old left back joined Palermo back in 2023 and has made 72 appearances for them over the past two seasons. He’s scored three goals and added four assists in Palermo colors. Prior to his move to Italy, Lund played for Danish side Esbjerg and Swedish club Hacken.A former Danish youth national, Lund switched his allegiance to the United States and made his senior debut in September 2023. He’s earned seven international caps since then, but zero since October 2024.Should Lund join Koln, he would be the lone American in the first-team squad following Damion Downs’ transfer to EFL Championship side Southampton. Koln’s competitive season kicks off on August 17 against Jahn Regensburg in German DFB Pokal action.
