Liverpool have confirmed their 29-man squad that will travel to Asia for their pre-season tour in Hong Kong and Japan, but there’s no Federico Chiesa involved. As the club set course for the Far East, Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah and all the main attractions will be on the chartered flight to Asia on Sunday night. The headline omissions are those of forwards Federico Chiesa and youngster Jayden Danns, who was expected to go on the tour but wasn’t involved in Sunday’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Stoke.Liverpool have signed three goalkeepers this summer in Giorgi Mamardashvili, Freddie Woodman and the 20-year-old, Armin Pecsi. They are joined by Alisson and youngster Kornel Misciur in the goalkeeper department for the tour.In addition to Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong, Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas and Luca Stephenson will all feature in the backline. The midfield section of the squad includes Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Wataru Endo, Trey Nyoni, Alexis Mac Allister, Tyler Morton and Harvey Elliott. While the majority of the team have been in training for two weeks, the latter two on that list, Morton and Elliott, only joined up with the squad ahead of the flight. This is due to them having finished their internationals just three weeks ago, as they won the European Under-21 Championships with England. In attack, Salah, Florian Wirtz, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Ben Doak and Rio Ngumoha are all in the travelling squad. Hugo Ekitike, having agreed to sign from Eintracht Frankfurt, is not in the initial squad but should join up with the squad once the transfer is completed in the coming days.Liverpool have two fixtures to play on their tour, after starting pre-season with victories over Stoke (behind closed doors) and Preston.First up, they face AC Milan at the Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong on Saturday, before heading to Japan to play against Yokohama FM on July 30.Upon their return, Liverpool then have an Anfield double-header against Athletic Bilbao (August 4), before rounding off pre-season with the Community Shield, against Crystal Palace, on August 10.
