Alasdair Gold reveals what he knows about the immediate futures of Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai in the Tottenham Hotspur first-team squad.Tottenham Hotspur fans have heard many positive reviews about the Croat over the last few seasons, but some of them may have been sceptical, given that he was delivering those performances in the Polish and Belgian leagues. However, Vuksovic showed on his Spurs debut just why there is so much hype about him, scoring a goal and delivering an assist as the Lilywhites emerged 2-0 winners over Reading. Some reports indicate that Vuskovic’s performance may have convinced Thomas Frank to keep him at Tottenham rather than sending him out on loan.Credit: Tottenham HotspurAlasdair Gold explains the big decision Tottenham face on Luka VuskovicWhile his potential may be evident, the 18-year-old faces a monumental challenge in getting game time at Spurs.Frank has Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso, Radu Dragusin, Ben Davies, and new signing Kota Takai at his disposal in central defence.Spurs fans are still waiting to see Takai in action for the first time, and Gold has now revealed that Vuskovic is battling the Japanese defender for a place in Frank’s squad, with one of the two expected to go out on loan. The journalist said on Gold told Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham: “I do think it’s probably going to come down to those two. At the moment, the indications are that Takai will be one sticking around, and Vuskovic may be heading out on loan.“Unless they decide to keep both until January and see how things are going, but that was quite a leap forward in terms of getting the fans behind him sticking around at Spurs.”Thomas Frank sent a big hint about his centre-back plansFrank employed a 4-2-3-1 formation in both halves against Reading, which is the same system he used for the majority of last season at Brentford. If that is the system that he wants to use predominantly at Spurs, then it is clear that he is unlikely to need more than five centre-backs. That means that Luka Vuskovic is not likely to get much of a look in if he stays at Tottenham. With the Croat having tasted senior football over the last few years, he will not be too keen to warm the bench. The centre-back will not have any shortage of options, as it has been reported over recent weeks that a host of clubs around Europe want to take Vuskovic on loan.READ MORE: How Yoane Wissa feels about Newcastle United move after Tottenham approachThe post Tottenham have a plan for Luka Vuskovic this season but fans may not love it appeared first on Spurs Web.
