Mohali administration plans to restrict heavy vehicles during peak hours to ease traffic

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal chaired a meeting with SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans and MC Commissioner Parminder Pal Singh to discuss possible traffic decongestion strategies. She stressed the need to limit heavy vehicle entry between 8–11 am and 5–8 pm until alternative routes are completed.The DC called for detailed inputs from the police and other departments to finalise the proposal and urged all key stakeholders, including the Municipal Corporation, GMADA, and the district police, to expedite infrastructure planning.SSP Hans suggested temporary road bifurcation near IISER to improve flow on the Airport Road.Addressing civic issues, MC Commissioner Parminder Pal Singh raised concerns about stray and milch cattle, recommending a dedicated cattle complex outside city limits.
