Kampala International University (KIU) has reinforced its position as Uganda’s leading private institution, retaining its status as the number one private university in both Uganda and the East African region.This, according to the July 2025 Webometrics World Ranking of Universities.KIU maintained its position as the second-best university overall in Uganda, trailing only the country’s flagship institution, Makerere University, which recently made headlines by descending in rankings.“We are immensely proud of this consistent recognition from Webometrics,” stated Prof. Muhammed Ngoma, KIU’s Vice-Chancellor. “Maintaining our leadership is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students.
