Maltese Paralympian, Maja Theuma, was awarded a prestigious athlete internship in Germany with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).“I am incredibly excited to join the IPC’s Brand and Communications team as an athlete intern. As a Paralympian and a marketing graduate, I couldn’t say no to this opportunity. It perfectly ties both my passion for sport and my professional interests together,” said Theuma as she spoke from the IPC Headquarters.During her speech, Theuma went on to say how she had the honour of speaking at the IPC Athletes’ Forum in South Korea on a panel discussing athlete representation and leadership pathways. At the time, she was approached by the IPC’s Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Craig Spence, asking if she’d consider joining the IPC after she would graduate from her Masters Degree.Maja Theuma is best known for having participated in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. She has represented Malta in European Championships and World Series where she set a new national record for the 400-metre Freestyle.Maja Theuma will be joining the Brand, Content and Communications team of the IPC as part of its Athlete Internship Programme. The programme is designed to support Para athletes transitioning from sporting careers to professional careers, offering hands-on experience within the IPC’s core departments.“We’re extremely excited to welcome Maja on her year-long internship with Team IPC at our Campus in Bonn.
