House Republicans on Tuesday advanced a measure that would rename the Kennedy Center for the Arts' opera house after first lady Melania Trump.The proposed renaming was folded into an amendment to a bill that would set fiscal year 2026 funding levels for the Interior Department and several other federal agencies, including the Kennedy Center. The amendment — and the bill itself — were advanced by the House Appropriations Committee in a hearing.
