Frank Warren has not taken well to Tony Bellew’s take on Daniel Dubois’ KO defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.Dubois was brutally knocked out in the fifth round of his rematch with heavyweight rival Usyk as he failed to get revenge for his 2023 defeat at Wembley Stadium.Warren has lashed back at Bellew once again over Dubois’ recent defeatJust days after the fight, former world champion Bellew joined talkSPORT where he suggested Dubois quit too soon, having failed to beat the count after the devastating left hook.He said: “I’m a massive fan of him and his sister. But when you’ve had three separate occasions when you’ve had moments of recollection and sit there and go, ‘I’m hurt, I’m down, I’ve had enough’.“On Saturday night, he had zero success. In my opinion, this is the attitude and mentality of a guy that when the going gets tough, he doesn’t want to fight, and you can never change that.”Joseph Parker then also accused Dubois of quitting the fight, as tensions have ramped up in the boxing world. But Dubois’ promoter Frank Warren quickly lashed out at Bellew and pointed out his previous comments during a fiery response on talkSPORT.He furiously hit back: “Tony Bellew has been a hater with Daniel from day one.“He’s the one when we made the fight against Anthony Joshua, that said that Daniel would go back to hospital in an ambulance.“It was an unsavoury thing to say, so what Tony Bellew says I don’t give a t**s about.“Tyson Fury came out and defended Daniel today and said, ‘what do you want him to die in the ring?’.GettyDubois was unable to climb to his feet for a second time[/caption]“He got knocked down twice. On one hand people are saying, ‘Usyk is an all-time great, those punches are great’.“On the other hand people are saying ‘why didn’t he stand up after getting caught with the punches’.“What did you expect? He did stand up after one of them and got knocked down again.“Where’s he meant to walk back to, the neutral corner? It’s so pathetic. I find it baffling.”What has Team Daniel Dubois said about the ‘quitting’ allegation?Bellew has been critical of Dubois in the past, having been one of many who also suggested he quit in his original 2023 defeat to Usyk.Dubois has been increasingly challenged over this narrative, but has defiantly insisted those claims are wide of the mark.Dubois now faces an interesting rebuild for his glistening heavyweight careerGettyDespite falling to a third career defeat, the Briton is only 27-years-old and has plenty of time to rebuild his career.Losing to Usyk is no mean feat given the likes of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have also fallen to the same fate twice. And his trainer Don Charles has affirmed that it was correct to end the contest, with Dubois being pulled out for the right reasons. He added to talkSPORT: “At that time, my instinct was to throw in the towel to save him from any further punishment in case he wanted to carry on,” he said.“I instinctively did that because of the actions he took [against Joe Joyce], taking a knee, which people mistranslated and started calling him a quitter for…“It is very disappointing, especially coming from current fighters and ex-fighters.“I’ll hold my hands up. We went into a fight. We prepared the best we could.“We got beat by the better man, an exceptional fighter who’s done a number on every Brit that’s been in there with him.”
