Aaron Rodgers looks set to close out his career in the famous black and gold of the Pittsburgh Steelers.Undoubtedly a first-ballot Hall of Famer, the veteran quarterback established his legacy as an all-time great with the Green Bay Packers.Rodgers is preparing for what could be his final NFL seasonGettyHe lead his team to Super Bowl glory and scooped four NFL Most Valuable Player awards during his time at Lambeau Field, before departing for the New York Jets in 2023.While his two seasons with Gang Green failed to inspire the same success, Rodgers now has one final chance to cap his career by leading another of football’s iconic franchises to glory — with the help of the highest-paid non-QB in history. The Steelers have been to the playoffs in all but three of the last 10 years, but they have only reached the AFC Championship Game on one of those trips to the postseason. With Rodgers, they are hoping for a decent run in 2025. And while the quarterback will be focused on team success first and foremost, he will no doubt hope to build on his own legacy. In what could be his final season, the 41-year-old is on schedule to break into the top five players of all-time when it comes to career completions.Rodgers is currently seventh on the list, having completed 5,357 passes across his 20-year career to date. The man who sits above him in sixth place? Pittsburgh legend Ben Roethlisberger.Big Ben played his entire career in the Steel City, winning two Super Bowls and throwing an impressive 5,440 passes.Rodgers, though, is set to eclipse Roethlisberger in terms of all-time completions, and he can do it in a Steelers uniform. The QB has a current average of 21.6 completions per game, and is projected to pass Roethlisberger’s total in Week 4 of the 2025 season.Roethlisberger won two Super Bowls with the Steelers but Rodgers could surpass himAFPRodgers won four MVP awards as he racked up the passes in Green BayGetty Images - GettyPittsburgh are scheduled to face the Minnesota Vikings at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland, that week, meaning Rodgers could hit the milestone in front of an international crowd. The real celebration, though, could come a little later in the season.Ahead of Rodgers and Roethlisberger, fifth on the all-time passing completions list, is Atlanta Falcons great Matt Ryan.He completed 5,551 passes in his career, which is just 182 more than A-Rod’s current total. If all goes well, the Steelers QB would head into Week 9 needing only 11 passes to move into the top five, further establishing himself as one of the greats. However, it’s near impossible for Rodgers to climb any higher than fifth place.NFL greats Brady and Manning are also in the top five passers of all-timeGettyPeyton Manning sits fourth on the list, with 6,125 completions across his career with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos.Brett Favre, the man that Rodgers replaced in Green Bay, is third all-time with 6,300 completions.Above him are Drew Brees in second, with 7,142 pass completions, and Tom Brady, who is miles ahead of everyone else. The seven-time Super Bowl winner completed 7,753 passes across his legendary 23-year career. It’s fair to say, then, that Rodgers will be in good company if he cracks the top five. And while that would mean surpassing Roethlisberger, the Steelers legend is all for it.“Records are meant to be broken,” Big Ben said of the idea last month.
