Gaza journalist risks his life to expose Hamas’ deadly stubbornness in ceasefire negotiations.By World Israel News StaffA Palestinian journalist railed against Hamas in an Arabic-language video circulating on social media, accusing the terror group of committing “treason” against Gazans by refusing to accept a ceasefire and hostage deal that would end the ongoing war.“Hamas is currently carrying out one of the greatest acts of treason in history,” the journalist said, addressing his fellow Palestinians in the video.According to a translation by military blogger Abu Ali Express, the journalist described the dire humanitarian situation in the Strip, saying civilians are dying from hunger and that hundreds are being killed in airstrikes.Despite the immense suffering, “Hamas is still unreasonably stubborn in negotiations over a single kilometer. A kilometer from the Morag Axis, and another near the Philadelphia Axis,” the journalist said.“That is treason! It doesn’t make sense! It doesn’t makes sense that negotiations will drag out because of such things. What difference does one kilometer make? Hundreds of people are dying right now. That is treason!” he added, concluding his impassioned plea. The journalist, whose name was not published by Abu Ali Express — presumably to protect his physical safety — may be tortured or killed by Hamas for speaking out against the terror group.Numerous human rights organizations, including Palestinian NGOs, have confirmed that Hamas routinely detains and abuses Gazans who express dissent or disagree with its policies.Political rivals, journalists, and dissidents labeled as “collaborators” with Israel are often beaten, tortured with electric shocks, or publicly executed. On several occasions, it was reported that the mutilated bodies of individuals believed to have posed a threat to Hamas rule were left in public places as a warning to others.Speaking anonymously to the New York Times and the Guardian, several unnamed Gazan journalists said they fear reprisals from the terror group if they portray Hamas in a negative light. The post Hamas guilty of ‘treason’ for derailing truce: Palestinian writer appeared first on World Israel News.
