HIGHLIGHTS of May 2025• CPI based Annual Headline Inflation was 3.46% (YoY), up from 0.28% the previous month, while CPI (MoM) decreased by 0.17% in May compared to the previous month.• Annual Food Inflation is at 3.07% compared to the same time last year (May 2024).• On MoM basis, in May, prices for wheat and wheat flour decreased. Compared to the previous year, a major decrease was noted for wheat, wheat flour, and rice Irri-6 prices along with a slight decrease in the price for rice Basmati.• Compared to April, in May there was a major increase in the price of eggs along with slight increases in the prices of sugar and pulse Gram, while slight decreases were noted for pulse Mash, chicken, cooking oil, and ghee.• Over the past year, the largest increases were noted for chicken, pulses (moong, gram), sugar, eggs, ghee, and cooking oil, while a major decrease was seen in the price of pulse mash and a slight decrease for pulse masoor.• Terms of Trade (ToT) has improved by 8.1% over the past month while overall it improved by 37% compared to a year ago.
