The agreements were signed in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, and the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, respectively. Representatives from the Djiboutian government, international organizations, and the Embassy of the State of Qatar were present.The first memorandum of understanding was with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), signed by Ms. Ghada Ezzedine Ahmed, Director of the Qatar Charity Office in Djibouti, and Tania Pacifico, the organization's resident representative, in the presence of Mr. Mohammed bin Hassan Al Kaabi, Diplomatic Attaché at the Qatari Embassy. The memoranda stipulate the provision of relief aid to refugees, including tents for temporary shelter, water purification devices, and solar-powered lighting devices.This initiative comes within the framework of both sides' commitment to strengthening humanitarian efforts in Djibouti and expanding effective partnerships that serve vulnerable groups and contribute to improving their living conditions.During the signing, the two parties emphasized the importance of joint cooperation in responding to growing humanitarian needs and working together to provide practical and sustainable solutions that ensure the dignity and safety of beneficiaries.Similarly, another memorandum of understanding was signed with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to enhance solar energy production, with a particular focus on its use to power wells and desalination plants, in addition to providing the energy needed for other development infrastructure. The agreement includes Qatar Charity implementing two desalination projects at a cost of approximately 4 million Qatari riyals. The memorandum was signed in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Younis Ali Jidi, and Mr. Mohammed bin Hassan Al Kaabi, Diplomatic Attaché at the Qatari Embassy.The memorandum was signed by Mohamed Kella Weiss, Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, and Ms. Ghada Ezzedine, Director of Qatar Charity's office in Djibouti. On this occasion, His Excellency the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Younes Ali Guedi, praised this cooperation, considering it a model of a strategic partnership that is at the heart of Djibouti's Vision 2035, which aims to shift to clean energy and achieve sustainable development. He emphasized that cooperation with Qatar Charity is an important tributary in supporting national renewable energy projects.A memorandum of understanding was also signed with the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, under which Qatar Charity will implement projects and provide assistance to support vulnerable children, especially orphans, build and renovate schools and vocational training centers, and provide furniture and school supplies. The agreement was signed in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, Mustafa Mohamed Mahmoud, and His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Rashid bin Shafie Al Marri.The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, Mr. Mohamed Abdullah Mahyoub, and the Director of the Qatar Charity Office in Djibouti, Ms. Ghada Ezzedine Ahmed. During his speech at the signing ceremony, His Excellency the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training emphasized the importance of this partnership, saying, "Education is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development in our country." He expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar for its significant support for the Comprehensive Primary Education Project, and to Qatar Charity for its commitment to supporting Djibouti in addressing educational challenges.For his part, His Excellency the Qatari Ambassador, Dr. Rashid bin Shafie Al Marri, expressed his happiness at strengthening cooperation between his country and Djibouti, affirming Qatar's readiness to support the Ministry in achieving its goals of providing comprehensive and distinguished education for all.
