Date: July 17, 2025Location: As-Suwayda Governorate – Daraa GovernorateEvent: Forced displacement and mass exodusField SituationSignificant displacement is occurring in the areas between As-Suwayda and Daraa, particularly in the villages of Shahba and Al-Maqous, due to threats and pressure from armed groups. Local authorities are working to gather displaced families in temporary centers before relocating them to organized shelters.Affected AreasShahba – Easy access for evacuation.Al-Maqous, Zaytouna, Al-Hroubi, Al-Mansoura – Hot zones with high risk of violence and displacement.Other villages near the border – Families can evacuate easily via Izraa or the new Damascus–Suwayda highway.Safe Areas and Shelter CentersApproximately 500 displaced families have arrived in neighboring villages of As-Suwayda. Two shelter centers have been opened in Ghasm and Khraba. The villages of Khraba, Ara, and Ghasm are considered safe havens.
