This popular Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant is located in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland and features a French prix fixe menu.Bodziony informed her server about her food allergies and ordered from a special, allergen-free menu. Disney World is typically very accommodating, with all kinds of options being offered across the resort’s sit-down and table-service restaurants. Bodziony was reportedly assured her food was safe for her to eat.“The server brought bread and salad to the table, which the server assured the family was nut-free, the lawsuit stated. “Immediately after finishing the salad, Mae’s lips became itchy. She then took two Benadryl pills. However, shortly thereafter, the reaction progressed, causing swelling in her throat.”“This unexpected turn of events required the family to adjust their plans and incur extra costs for the extended car rental and flight change fees,” the family argued in the lawsuit. “Additionally, the hospital charges amounted to over $40,000. Moreover, the entire family experienced extreme emotional distress as they wondered if Mae would survive.”Bodziony’s throat reportedly began to swell, which is when she used an EpiPen while waiting for an ambulance to arrive. Bodziony was escorted to a more private part of the Be Our Guest restaurant, the Beast’s Study, where she waited until emergency services arrived.Bodziony, along with her family, accuses Disney of ignoring warnings regarding her nut allergy.Legal Trouble for DisneyCredit: DisneyRelated: Mickey’s Iconic Sorcerer Hat RETURNING to Hollywood Studios in 2026The meal at Be Our Guest led to a three-day stay at AdventHealth Celebration Hospital, where Bodziony’s condition deteriorated.“Mae’s condition worsened, requiring additional epinephrine, intravenous steroids, Pepcid, and Benadryl at the hospital. Due to her critical state, she was admitted for close monitoring and placed on a heart monitor,” the lawsuit said. “The next day, Mae experienced a rapid biphasic reaction just before being discharged. A full medical team treated her, and the hospital decided to keep her for another night. […] The next morning, Mae experienced another rebound reaction with chest pain. A nurse administered another dose of epinephrine.”Bodziony’s condition eventually escalated further into what is called a biphasic episode. A second wave of symptoms emerged after treatment. This led to a multi-day stay at the hospital, where Bodziony underwent treatment for other issues, such as chest pain.Bodziony’s family claims Disney World never reached out to check on her in the hospital. According to the suit, hospital fees exceeded $40,000. The cost of the incident doesn’t just involve money, as the hospital stay also took an emotional toll on the family.Disney has not addressed the new lawsuit.This lawsuit follows another case in which a woman reportedly died after dining at Raglan Road.
