IntroductionSamsung may have skipped one Galaxy S Fan Edition smartphone following the first two models, but the company isn't looking to do that again. For 2025, Samsung has planned the Galaxy S25 FE. It will be the fifth Galaxy S25 model following the addition of a fourth model, the razor-thin Galaxy S25 Edge.Design and display The first Galaxy S25 FE rumors started in October 2024, with the first one hinting at a thinner design. The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are all thinner than their predecessors, so the FE getting the same treatment wouldn't come as a surprise. While nothing can come close to the slimness of the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung plans to make all flagship devices thinner than before in 2025.We expect the Galaxy S25 FE's display specs to be similar to the Galaxy S24 FE. That means it should feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. However, Samsung may upgrade the panel to reach max brightness of 2600 nits like the panels employed on the other Galaxy S25 models.SpecificationsLike all Galaxy S FE smartphones, some Galaxy S25 FE specs will match those of other models in its lineup while others will be similar to those of its predecessor. Unfortunately, the S25 FE may not get the most impressive piece of tech from its siblings. Instead of a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the S25 FE is expected to use the Exynos 2400e chip or its MediaTek equivalent, the Dimensity 9400.The Exynos 2400e is a slightly lower clocked version of the Exynos 2400 that powered the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in all markets other than the US, Canada, and China, and while it's a fantastic chip, it's handily beaten by the Snapdragon 8 Elite in both performance and efficiency. The same is true when we compare the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 to the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The Galaxy S25 FE is unlikely to receive an upgrade in battery capacity either, or at least that's not something that's been hinted at in rumors as of May 15, 2025. That's not a bad thing, however, as the S24 FE with its 4,700 mAh battery has excellent battery life.An upgrade that is likely to be a thing is an improved selfie camera. Samsung has reportedly equipped the S25 FE with a 12MP front camera. It's unclear if this is the same 12MP sensor that is found on the non-FE Galaxy S23, S24, and S25 models; it could be a slightly lower-quality sensor similar to the one used on the Galaxy A56.Whether upgrades are coming to the rest of the cameras, like the 3x telephoto, remains to be seen. For those wondering, the Galaxy S24 FE boasts a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP zoom camera of 3x-30x zoom. Some of the other specs we expect include an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, 25W fast charging, and connectivity features like Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.Software and features Samsung started firmware development for the Galaxy S25 FE sometime early in the second quarter of 2025. Like the Galaxy S21 FE, the Galaxy S25 FE will have the advantage of running a newer version of Android and One UI out of the box—Android 16 and One UI 8—than its non-FE cousins. The S25 FE will be eligible for seven major OS upgrades. That means it will end its support lifecycle on Android 23 and One UI 15 (provided Google and Samsung are still using the conventional numbering convention). We expect the Galaxy S25 FE to sport all of the Galaxy AI features available on the other Galaxy S25 models, including powerful features like Audio Eraser. Now Brief will also be on-board.Availability and priceAs of May 15, 2025, no Galaxy S25 FE price or availability information is available. The Galaxy S24 FE started at $649 in the USA, and we could see a similar price tag for the S25 FE if the specs currently known are accurate. As for a release date, the S25 FE will likely launch sometime in the last three months of 2025.The post Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: Everything you need to know appeared first on SamMobile.
