Work is currently underway on upgrading, overhauling, and renovating multiple spaces across Disney World’s four theme parks, with Magic Kingdom receiving arguably the most exciting updates of the bunch.Disney’s original Florida theme park is set to receive a new area inspired by Pixar’s Cars franchise, which will include several new attractions. To make way for this new addition, Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America closed, which also meant the closure of fan-favorite attractions like Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat. However, there’s one new Magic Kingdom addition that may have flown under your radar, and it breaks one of Disney’s oldest rules.Disney World’s New Pirates-Themed BarCredit: DisneyRelated: After Revoking Major Perk, Disney Now Handing Out Dollars to Select PassholdersPackaged alongside the rest of Magic Kingdom’s updates is The Beak and Barrel. This new bar/lounge space is inspired by the world of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, allowing patrons to immerse themselves in their own pirate adventures.Disney has been working on The Beak and Barrel for the last few years, but did not formally unveil it until May 2025. The new bar/lounge is a first for Magic Kingdom but follows in the footsteps of other themed and immersive dining venues, namely Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Star Wars-themed bar has been a massive hit for Walt Disney World since it opened in 2019, making bringing a themed bar to Magic Kingdom a no-brainer.Just like Oga’s, The Beak and Barrel has a rich world to pull from. Disney has promised all kinds of Pirates of the Caribbean-themed details and treasures will be found within The Beak and Barrel, with the bar taking inspiration from both the classic dark ride and the film franchise that spawned from it.The opening of a new bar, the first for Magic Kingdom, has drawn numerous conversations and debates. Walt Disney was against the idea of bringing alcohol into his original California theme park, a decision that remained firm for decades.Walt believed alcohol would bring in a “rowdy” element to the parks, which went against his vision of a place the entire family could enjoy.Things changed in 2019 with the opening of Disneyland’s version of Oga’s Cantina, but for the most part, Disney’s historically dry theme park has remained relatively dry.The same cannot be said for Walt Disney World, which features all sorts of places to grab a stiff drink. EPCOT is the biggest rule breaker, with the park having a reputation for being a haven for those looking to get drunk on their vacations.Magic Kingdom lies in an interesting spot, as guests will struggle to find alcohol at most locations. Certain sit-down restaurants do have adult beverages on the menu, but nothing like The Beak and Barrel has been offered before. The Beak and Barrel will also be open to guests of all ages, something that Walt would likely not agree with either.EPCOT recently opened a new bar named GEO-82, which is exclusive to guests 21 and older.Due to The Beak and Barrel’s themed nature, guests will be limited to 45 minutes inside. This mirrors how Oga’s Cantina works in Galaxy’s Edge. The Beak and Barrel does not have an official opening date just yet, with Disney World simply stating on its website that the new location will open in “late 2025.”Are you excited about Disney World’s new Pirates of the Caribbean bar?The post Disney World Violates One of Walt Disney’s Strictest Theme Park Rules With Latest Attraction appeared first on Inside the Magic.
