Forest officials arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly attempting to smuggle sandalwood from Kurukooti in Ward 4 of Kankol in Kannur under the Karamaramthattu section of the Taliparamba Forest Range.Muhammad Harris was nabbed on Monday while trying to transport freshly cut sandalwood on a scooter.Forest officials confirmed that Harris was a repeat offender with involvement in sandalwood theft cases in the past.
