Switch 2 has reportedly broken the first-month hardware sales record in Japan, moving over 1.5 million systems.The sales figures for Nintendo's new hybrid console come way of Famitsu via Yomiuri, according to VGC. The official tally is 1,538,260 Switch 2 systems sold in Japan, per Famitsu. The publication reportedly obtains data from thousands of retail locations and started collecting sales figures in 1996.The previous record-holder was also a Nintendo system: Game Boy Advance. In 2001, the handheld reportedly sold 1,367,433 units, so GBA held the top spot for almost a quarter of a century before Switch 2.
