Looking For A True Johannesburg Food Experience

Wait 5 sec.

I am traveling to Johannesburg. I am typically very into street vendors and would really like to eat like a local. Im really interested in trying fat cakes, chicken dust, braai, smiley, and kota. And is it possible to find 7 colors on a day that isnt Sunday (I wont be in on a Sunday)? The place ive seen that has most of these things is the JHB Market. Is the JHB Market safe for tourists to go to? If not, are there any markets or restruants you could suggest to me to get any/all of these things? I do know about Yeoville Dinner Club and Dlala Nje Taste of Africa tour. Unfortunatly, Yoeville Dinner Club will be out of town for the time we are here. Off the topic of food- Are there any Soweto tours that give a more personal/local experience while also hitting the main atttractions? Thanks for your time and responses! submitted by /u/huntrain [link] [comments]
