In retrospect, it might have been more useful if all this stuff underlining the close personal links between Donald Trump and history’s greatest pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, had come out before the 2024 election, but I guess we are where we are. Trump spent much of 2024 making a song-and-dance about releasing the “Epstein files”, teasing that his client list would showcase which powerful and wealthy individuals were wrapped up in his web of sin. At no point did it apparently occur to Trump that he was close friends with Epstein and that this tactic might backfire. Well, backfire it has. It now transpires that Pam Bondi told Trump back in May that he was repeatedly mentioned throughout Epstein’s files. We don’t yet know in what context, but the simple fact that Trump is now frantically trying to block the release of the files, calling anyone who’s interested in them a stupid weakling, and concocting a harebrained scheme to put Barack Obama in prison indicates it’s bad. Really bad. Now all the bugs are coming out of the woodwork, and Rep. Ilhan Omar just caught a big one. She reposted a video from Epstein’s 2010 deposition, in which he confirms his “personal relationship” with Trump, but refuses to answer whether the pair socialized with underage girls together: Omg pic.twitter.com/bV6kYbl7zA— Ilhan Omar (@IlhanMN) July 24, 2025 Hm, looks bad. One of the most headscratching things about the modern political landscape is that the most adamant die-hard Trump supporters are obsessed with uncovering sinister links between Epstein and prominent Democrats and liberal celebrities. Let’s be fair, those links do exist. Even so, it’s ludicrous that they can bury their heads in the sand and completely ignore the colossal stack of evidence showing that one of Epstein’s most powerful and closest friends was their idol, Donald Trump. As such, the response is generally to deny the reality of their eyes, insisting that any bit of evidence incriminating Trump is a lie. But, as they say, “facts don’t care about your feelings” and the facts are stacking up a mile high, pointing to Trump being closely involved with Epstein for multiple years. Despite Republican attempts to block the release of the Epstein files, we suspect they’ll soon become public one way or another and, as some MAGA are concluding, it’s time to let the chips fall where they may. Where this is will end up is anyone’s guess, but this story definitely isn’t going away.
