Tim Tszyu quit on his stool and was unable to get his revenge in a brutal and epic second meeting with Sebastian Fundora.Tszyu and 6ft 6ins giant Fundora famously battled in March last year, a fight which ended in heartache for the Australian.Tszyu failed to beat Fundora for a second time and had to quitHe was badly cut on the scalp and left in a bloody mess in just the second round, before being handed the first defeat of his career by split decision.But he was now looking for redemption against Fundora on a huge bill topped by Manny Pacquiao vs Mario Barrios in Las Vegas.The Sin City battle had the boxing world watching to see if the famous son of Kostya Tszyu could exact his revenge and restore his status as a world champion.Unfortunately it was a disastrous start as he was floored in the opening round, before yet another cut opened up above his eye in the same second stanza as their first contest.He wrestled his way back into the contest and even drew blood from Fundora in a truly epic battle.But at the beginning of the eighth, a conversation was held with Tszyu who had taken some punishing shots.And he elected to quit the fight, insisting he wasn’t in a good enough to continue.The referee halted the clash on the advice of Tszyu’s corner, and his shot at changing the course of his career was over.Tszyu was looking to turn the tables on the huge champion, who had a frightening size advantage once again.Albeit size didn’t matter, the bout started at a lightning pace and Fundora landed the first huge blow in just minutes.GettyTszyu found himself playing catch up after just minutes[/caption]The pair exchanged left hands with the towering American landing first, which sent Tszyu on to the seat of his pants.Luckily it appears he was okay despite being rocked by the well-timed and crisp crack to the temple, and he composed himself to make the second round.The barrage continued in the second with Fundora landing some big shots as the Aussie gunslinger tried to fight fire with fire.He managed to escape the worst of the punishment and some wild swings hit their mark as the pair exchanged leather.A cut opened again for the Aussie as frightening parallels to their first encounter were drawn.But he managed to survive and wrestled momentum back in a true back and forth epic.It was a gruelling war but Fundora got the job done for a second timeGettyThe action caught alive again in the seventh as blood splattered from the face of Fundora this time, with twists and turns galore.Incredibly as Tszyu clambered back to his corner, the commissioner and inspector held talks with him while on his stool.And he was forced to quit after the unfortunate beating saw him with no more left to give.It was a sad moment for his career, but he simply elected on corner advice to end his shot at redemption.Fundora kept his world title belt and now it is a period of rebuild needed for the young star.
