Police registered an FIR in the matter on Sunday.Bharat Soni, working with HR and administration department of The Indian Express and posted at the company’s Panchkula office, said that he was present at his residence in Bhai Himmat Singh Nagar of Dugri area in Ludhiana on Saturday, when a group of at least 10 people opened attack on him. They were carrying stones, bricks and sharp-edged weapons, said Soni.In his statement to the police, Soni said that he was inside the house when he heard loud noises of some people talking to each other. As he opened the main gate of the house to check, a group of miscreants in the street attacked him. “One of them shouted: ‘Yahi hai (He is the one)’ and then others started throwing bricks and stones towards me,” said Soni.“I was pushed and bricks thrown at me. I suffered some injuries. They kept throwing stones and bricks which shattered the windowpanes of my house. The earthen pots were also shattered. Scared after the attack, I immediately shut the gate and rushed inside,” said Soni, adding that he suffered an injury to his right arm.Soni said that he had also submitted the CCTV footage of the incident to the police.The police said that based on Soni’s complaint, an FIR under sections 115(2)(voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2)(wrongful restraint), 351(2)(criminal intimidation) and 324(4)(mischief causing loss or damage) has been registered at Dugri police station against 10-12 unidentified suspects.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:chandigarh
