Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that Yoane Wissa will miss this weekend’s Premier League clash with Wolves.Wissa signed for Newcastle from Brentford in a £55m deal on transfer deadline day but has picked up a knee issue. The 29-year-old sustained the problem while representing the DR Congo during the international break. He has now been ruled out of this weekend’s fixture. Newcastle are aiming for their first win of the season at St James’ Park.Newcastle forward Wissa ruled out of Wolves clash“Unfortunately not, no (Wissa won’t debut),” Howe said at his pre-match press conference. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});“He won’t make this game, I saw him for the first time yesterday. He’s feeling the effects of the injury he sustained just before he came off. So we are going to have to see how he is.”Despite the delayed debut, Howe is confident that Wissa will turn out to be a brilliant addition. The forward scored 19 league goals last season in a career-best Premier League campaign.“An established Premier League goalscorer is very difficult to find and difficult to recruit. He has got great qualities, he had an outstanding year not just last year but before, so he’s got a history of scoring goals,” Howe said.“He’s done well against us and been a difficult player for us to handle when we have come up against him and I really admire the journey he has been on to get to this point because it has not been easy for him. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});“He has had big steps to make in his career but he has always adjusted and made them and hopefully he can do the same with us.”Read – Slot backs Liverpool departure to shine for new clubSee more – Premier League Stat Leaders: Most goals, assists, savesFollow The Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | TikTokThe post Newcastle injury blow with new signing to miss Wolves clash first appeared on The Football Faithful.
