Apple will have you feeling like Commander Shepard from Mass Effect with the new AirPods Pro 3, because they sport a feature called Live Translation. The company states that headphone users will hear languages like French and Spanish translated to English automatically. There is even the option to respond to someone without the headphones utilizing your iPhone, as it will transcribe your speech on screen to the other person's language.This all sounds very similar to the Translation Technology from the Mass Effect franchise. Auto-translators are a necessity in the RPG series so that humans, Krogans, and Salarians can all interact with each other easily. To start, Apple's upcoming earbuds--releasing September 19 for $249--will support English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish with Live Translation. By the end of 2025, the iPhone maker states that Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (simplified) will join that list. Keep in mind that AirPods Pro 3 aren't the first auto-translating earbuds.
