(representative image)The body of a two-month-old girl was discovered wrapped in a towel and dumped in the bushes near a residential area in Sector 9 on Tuesday morning.The infant’s body was discovered around 11 am when sanitation workers of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation spotted it near a park and alerted the police.The police said that scratch marks on the child’s face suggested that she might have been attacked by an animal after being abandoned.A medical team was immediately called to the spot which confirmed that the child was dead.The Sector 3 police has registered a case against unknown persons and initiated an investigation.The police are also scanning CCTV footage from the vicinity in an effort to identify those responsible for abandoning the infant.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:chandigarh
