As you wander around Disney Parks, you see pieces of Walt Disney everywhere. None is more recognizable than Mickey Mouse. So, when guests get onto the Walt Disney World Railroad, it might be as close as they’ll come to being with Walt. However, at Magic Kingdom, guests have some serious issues riding the Disney World Railroad thanks to major construction projects at the park, but that changed today. During the closure, Disney completed work on the exterior and staircase, and also replaced the entire tile floor. Despite the reopening of the Main Street U.S.A. station, the train still cannot complete the loop around the park because of ongoing construction. The complete circuit of the Disney World Railroad shut down in July as construction began at the park. Since the closure, Rivers of America has been completely drained, while Disney has put up scaffolding around the area so that guests cannot see the progress on the construction projects. In an ironic twist, massive thunderstorms refilled the Rivers of America in Central Florida last week. For a moment, it appeared that Mother Nature did not want the attraction to close. Station to Fantasyland and back. There is no timetable for the completion of Cars and Villains Land, which means that Walt Disney World Railroad will likely remain in shuttle mode until those projects are completed. For now, guests can enjoy the newly minted splendor of the Main Street, U.S.A. Station and hope for what’s ahead. What is your favorite memory of the Walt Disney World Railroad?
