The Parappana Agarahara police on Friday registered an FIR against a city-based realtor for allegedly encroaching Rayasandra Lake to construct a layout and houses using forged documents.Based on a complaint filed by Kavitha M., revenue Inspector of Bommanahalli Circle, the accused, identified as Rama Reddy, have been booked under Karnataka Land Revenue Act and under Sections 192, 318, 324, 329, 336 and 340 of BNS.The Revenue Department officials had conducted inspections at the Rayasandra Lake spread across 56.2 acres situated in Doddanagamangala, survey No. 54 at Beguru hobli, and allegedly found large-scale encroachment by Rama Reddy and others to construct layouts and houses in November last year.The officials initiated an anti-encroachment drive to recover the land, but the accused opposed, demanding a survey of the land and assured to maintain status quo of the encroached property till then.The officials conducted a survey and found that the land was encroached, and while a legal process was initiated to recover the land, the accused allegedly continued to build layouts and houses, defying the order.The houses and layouts were being constructed using forged documents with plans for sale and to cheat the public and the State exchequer, Ms. Kavitha alleged in her complaint.Published - September 13, 2025 11:44 pm IST
