Online registration process for the exam will begin from Monday (September 15).According to a notification dated September 11 issued by the Maharashtra State Examination Council, the TET 2025 will be held in November. Both papers will be held on November 23 in two seperate sessions. “This test is compulsory for all appointment on posts of teachers in government-run, aided and unaided schools of all medium,” states the notification further adding that as the online application process will be in place till October 3. Hall tickets for the exam will be made available from November 12.The notification on the schedule for the TET examination— which is a mandatory eligibility criteria for appointment of teachers in schools from Classes 1 to 8, especially in all government-run and aided schools—has sparked a discussion among teachers community due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court. According to the SC ruling, the TET mandate continues for new appointments. But it also states that teachers already in service without TET will have to pass it within the next two years to continue their jobs or accept compulsory retirement. However, as TET was introduced in 2013, all those appointed before this year were exempted from TET.Owing to confusion around what will happen to those appointed before 2013, teachers are now waiting to get clarity from the government. “The state government has to provide clarity on whether or not the relaxation will continue. Otherwise, many teachers will have to register for the upcoming TET,” said a teacher.
