normalnormalnormalChandigarh, Former Indian Test captain Kapil Dev along with UT Cricket Association (UTCA) President Sanjay Tandon met His Excellency, the Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator, Gulab Chand Kataria at Raj Bhawan on Thursday to discuss initiatives for the promotion of sports in Chandigarh.Kapil Dev expressed gratitude to the Administration for introducing the new Sports Policy which he said will greatly benefit young players in pursuing and shaping their sporting careers. He also urged the Administrator to enhance sports facilities in the city, emphasizing that several unused grounds could be handed over to UTCA for establishing cricket academies.Highlighting the importance of year-round training, Kapil Dev stressed the need for indoor practice academies in Chandigarh. He advocated that, with the support of BCCI, such facilities could provide budding cricketers with uninterrupted practice opportunities, even during adverse weather conditions.Governor Kataria welcomed the suggestions and invited UTCA to submit a formal proposal for further consideration.
