“In the meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, Krishna Mohan ji of Hardoi was appointed a new member,” said a trust officialKrishna Mohan, 73, an RSS office-bearer and a former Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, has been appointed a new member of the Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.The decision was taken in a meeting of the Trust on Tuesday.Mohan, who hails from Hardoi district, is RSS’s Chhetra Sangh Chalak (region incharge) for eastern Uttar Pradesh.He will replace Kameshwar Chaupal who died earlier this year after prolonged illness.Chaupal hailed from Bihar and came from the Scheduled Caste community. Mohan also comes from the same community and joined the Maharashtra cadre of the Indian Forest Service after completing M.Sc. in geology from Lucknow University.He was, along with his wife, one of the “yajman” (host) couples at the first consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in January 2024. Mohan also worked as a scientist in the Department of Atomic Energy for a few years before joining the Indian Forest Service in 1978. He served in various posts in the Maharashtra Forest Department and retired as additional principal chief conservator of forests in 2012. He has worked in the RSS in various capacities, including ‘nagar sangh chalak’, ‘zila sangh chalak’, and ‘prant sangh chalak’ for Awadh province.Speaking to The Indian Express, he said, “I got information from Champat Rai ji of Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust that I have been nominated as one of the trustees. It was unexpected. It is all because of the will of Lord Ram.
