An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred early morning on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at 2:22 am local time near Muswellbrook, New South Wales, Australia, as reported by Geoscience Australia (GeoAu).According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a very shallow depth of 1.9 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
